In this weekly feature we want to give our readers the opportunity to provide some point-and-click style input on some of the questions we have been pondering. Got a great poll idea? Drop us a note!

Google has long been playing with their "other" OS built on Chrome. There have been multiple laptops sporting Chrome OS, and this morning has brought a new addition to that family. HP has announced the Chromebook 11, which makes for a pretty sturdy offering for the Google desktop OS.

Google seems to be slowly making a dent in the old netbook market by supplying a budget alternative to a full-fledged Windows, or Mac, laptop. My question to our readers this week is this: Do you see Chrome OS as a legitimate desktop alternative? Or is it simply a browser on steriods? Could you make it your make it your only OS?

The next Nexus device is always a buzzing topic inside the Google community. Recently, the rumor mill has significantly picked up around Google's next iteration of the Android handset. We've already seen what the newest Nexus tablet will look like, but were somewhat disappointed that a smartphone was no where to be found at I/O.

Recent FCC filings and leaked photos have started to fill in some of the blanks. It would now seem that the Nexus 5, and KitKat, are just around the corner. However, the newest member of the Google family now has some stiff competition, and we want to know: Are you interested in buying one on release? Are you biting your nails to pre-order? Or did you just buy an iPhone 5s/c? Or does your new Moto device make you happen unless the Nexus is just a SuperPhone?

One of the many positives of the Android community is the custom ROM scene. ROMs are independently organized builds of Android that have been tweaked to offer an alternative to the OEM versions available for many Android phones. Using the opensource code provided by Google, developers are able to build their own custom versions of Android and tweak features to their heart's content.

Arguably the biggest such ROM, CyanogenMod, announced this past week that it will become a legitimate company and will be available on the new, N1 flagship from Oppo. Many of us techies consider ROM flashing a novelty at this point, and can do it in a couple of hours, but I've had several non-tech friends ask me about them recently. Installing a ROM is pretty risky for a novice and many may not see the point. This poses my question this week: Have you ever taken the plunge of installing a custom Android ROM?

Today's Apple event is all but a keynote away from unveiling the newest iPhone(s). Rumors have flown in the last few months of what new features the new model will bring, and many believe that this will be the first time Apple releases two different editions of the smartphone. From iOS 7, to a fingerprint reader, the allure of a new iPhone always gets the tech community's attention.

Let me preface this by saying I don't want this to turn into an iOS versus Android post. This poll is simple. Are you interested in buying the new iPhone? That's it. Yes? No? Maybe? Getting to clicking below to let us know!

With the revelation of a Nokia purchase by Microsoft, one of the more imminent assumptions is that BlackBerry may not be far behind in being acquired. Many companies have been rumored (including Microsoft) in the past few years of having interest in BlackBerry, but so far, no one has pulled the trigger. However, there must be corporations with enterprise roots who would find some sort of partnership favorable.

Could Dell make a play on the handset maker to regain some mobile market share? Is Cisco looking for another purchase to add to its portfolio? Could Lenovo be interested in increasing their footprint? Or does a dark horse like IBM make a move? Get to voting in this week's poll!

Wristband technology is nothing new. Many manufacturers, including Motorola and Sony, have tried to capture the essence of the smartwatch in the past. Their results were lackluster, to say the least, but with the recent success of the Pebble, and the rise of the rumor mill surrounding a possible iWatch, the smartwatch is a hot topic.

Are you dying to have a smartwatch? Or do you not understand the concept with the current glanceable information available via a smartphone? We want to know your thoughts on the matter in this weeks poll...so get to voting!

Multitasking is a key feature in the age of the smartphone. As a longtime webOS user, I tend to put an emphasis on how a mobile OS handles this feat. It has recently occurred to me, through talks with less enthusiastic smartphone users, that some may not even care how a phone utilizes bouncing from app to app.

A friend at work was recently using his phone at break, and I asked "Do you even know what the far right button does on that Droid?" He replied with a casual, "I never use it." He continued to explain that he simply goes to his home screen to go from one task to another. So, my question this week is for all my Android users. Do you actively use the recent apps option on your phone?

In a recent interview, Nokia execs have shown some of the first public signs of tension towards Microsoft's commitment to Windows Phone 8. It could easily be argued that Nokia is a larger driving force behind the platform than anyone else at this point. A prime example is they did what Microsoft, and Google, have yet to do:  Build a YouTube app for WP8.

The world is full of what-ifs, but one can't help but wonder: What if Nokia had chosen Android? It's an easy statement to say they would have been better off choosing a much more mature, established platform 2 years ago, but what if they did it now? Nokia would still realistically have two competitors in HTC and Samsung. In those two, they have a stronger software team than HTC, and a much better hardware division than Samsung. Could Nokia still compete in the Android landscape?

Let us know your opinion on a Nokia Android phone in this weeks poll!

With the Moto X just around the corner, the recent Google Play editions now seem to have some much stiffer competition. HTC and Samsung both filled a pretty big void of a flagship phone running bare, stock Android. We had not seen a decent device hit this category in the market since the Nexus 4 launch, back in November of 2012.

The Moto X is presumed to run stock as well, or at least something close. So, if you include the Nexus 4, that brings the count of deserving hardware running pure Android up to 4 devices. However, in this weeks poll, I want to know which you see yourself having the most interest in buying? Is the HTC One variant what you have been asking the smartphone gods for? Or are you waiting to see what Google and Motorola have in store with the X? Sound off in this week's Tuesdays at the Polls!

We have all known BlackBerry was in trouble. However, many had hoped that the launch of BlackBerry 10 would help the company rebound. Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to be the case. After another lackluster quarter earnings, that recorded an 84 million dollar loss, BlackBerry seems as low as ever. A buyout, or merger, could be eminent for the former king of mobile.

In these weeks poll, we want to know if you feel BlackBerry will rise from the ashes of BB7? Or will they crash and burn like the newly discontinued BlackBerry PlayBook? Give us your vote in this weeks poll.

In six days, Google will officially close the doors on Reader. Many of us have become dependent on the RSS platform to consume our daily dose of web news, and have scurried to find an appropriate alternative to the service. With less than a week to go, and many worthy options, we want to know where are you headed?

Have you taken to the front-runner in the race with Feedly? Or did Newsblur catch your fancy? Are you using a social network like Twitter or Facebook? Or are you holding out for AOL's new offering, or Digg, to blow you away? Let us know in this weeks poll, and sound off in comments for other options not mentioned we need to check out.

With all the news surrounding the next renditions of both the Xbox and PlayStation gaming consoles just around the corner, I wanted to get our readers input on which unit they are leaning towards. Both boxes have their pros and cons. Xbox has had the upper had over the previous generation, and is banking on this with risky moves like dedicated internet access, and lack of second-hand games. Sony is playing on the "true" gamer angle allowing for a much more traditional outlook on the PS4.

Which will you choose? Is gaming all you want, and the PS4 is calling your name? Or do you want the full home, all digital, utopia that Microsoft is striving for with the Xbox One? Let us know in this weeks Tuesdays at the Polls!

Apple unveiled their latest version of iOS yesterday at WWDC. Many had been wanting a redesign of the OS that has stayed relatively unchanged over the last few years. Users now have that request with iOS 7 bringing a much lighter, and minimal, design to the operating system. This revamp brings the OS to a new stage that looks familiar, but also very foreign at the same time.

This week's poll question is did this OS upgrade impress you? Emotions around the web thus far seem mixed at best, and I wanted to get the input of our readers. Do you like the new styling, or do you think they went to far? Did they simply make the operating system look to much like existing competitors? Let us know of your yes, or no, in the poll and sound-off in the comments!

One thing I have learned when it comes to smartphones, is that different people have different preferences on their handsets. Specifically, we tend to vary on what screen size we want. I much prefer a device closer to the 4-inch variety, but several of our team are fond of the 4.5 and up phones. When it comes to consumers, and us nerds, choosing new device is all about preferences, and size plays a huge role in that decision.

In this weeks poll, we would like to know your perfect handset size. Do fall into the giant Samsung Galaxy Note 6-inch range? Or do you find yourself wanting for the new iPhone, and it's assumed 4-inch chassis? Perhaps a "just right" 4.3-inch smartphone is your device of choice. Vote, and let us know, in this weeks Tuesdays at the Polls.

With this past week holding two major developer conferences, there seemed to be a theme at both of them. That theme was that messaging in mobile has become a very big deal. BlackBerry decided to open up their messaging platform and will bring BBM to Android and iOS. Meanwhile, Google has revamped Google Talk into Hangouts, and for now, it will become a little more proprietary in nature.

These two changes are met with very stiff competition, in a crowded space, when it comes to mobile messaging services. Whatsapp is arguably the current king and is available pretty much everywhere other than the desktop. Facebook has made a big push recently with their Home UI suite and the HTC First smartphone. There are also the old favorites of Skype and iMessage still soldiering on with millions of users.

In this week's poll, we would like to know what service you have chosen. Do you use the Skype because it's pretty much everywhere, or does everyone you need to contact own an iPhone with iMessage? Is Whatsapp your messenger of choice? Vote below to let us know your favorite and hit us up in comments if you need to voice your opinion of why you use said service.

This week marks huge developer conferences for both BlackBerry and Google. In Orlando, FL BlackBerry will be holding their Live conference to host developers interested in their new BlackBerry 10 platform from May 14-16. One day later, across the country in San Franscisco, Google will play to mobile app builders in much the same way at Google I/O, running May 15-17.

My question to you is simple. Is this a calculated failure by BlackBerry to schedule a developer event that overlaps with their biggest competitor? What was so urgent under the realm of BB10 that couldn't be revealed either earlier or later? Let us know what you think in this weeks Tuesdays at the Polls.
